Shadow removal method for pavement damage analysis

Abstract(in English) Currently, technological development of autonomous car using on-vehicle camera is carried out by several countries. In order to realize advanced automatic operation, accurate detection of danger information is required. Road damage, such as cracks and pot holes, cause dangerous accidents such as punctures and slips. Therefore, it is necessary to avoiding or decelerating. However, when trees and buildings shadows exist on road damage, the false detection rate increases. Therefore, in this research, in order to support advanced autonomous car, we study to remove shadow on road damage.
