Impulsive force and synchronization of a metronome

Abstract(in English) We can observe synchronization of mechanical metronomes. Putting the mechanical metronomes on a hanging plate and starting movements of the pendulums of the metronomes, we can observe synchronization. Such synchronization of the mechanical metronomes has been analyzed experimentally and numerically. In this study, we reinvestigated the mechanism of impulsive force by disassembling mechanical metronomes. Based on the results, we proposed an alternative method of adding impulsive forces in the model. According to the result of numerical experiments with these methods, the proposed method reproduces the movement of metronome more accurately than the conventional method.
