Tactile Texture Recognition using Convolutional Neural Networks for Time-series Sensor Data

Abstract(in English) Tactile texture is an important factor to determine to impression of an object. In this paper, we propose a novel recognition method for tactile texture using convolutional neural networks. The proposed system is composed of a pressure sensor and 6-axis acceleration sensor. Thus, the system configuration is simple, and it is possible to construct the system inexpensively. In the experiment, we apply the proposed method to the test objects have various tactile textures. The results showed the effectiveness of proposed method.
