Campus net based on LTE protocol all with dense small-cells

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a cellular network deployed in a campus. In the network, all are small cells, and they are densely spread in a campus to achieve ubiquitous communications. LTE protocol is applied and adapted to small cells. In small cells, propagation delay is shorter than CP (Cyclic Prefix) period of every symbol of LTE. Thus, data transfer can start without synchronization procedure before data transfer. This allows random access data communications fitting intermittent transfer of small data in addition to the connection-based data transfer of the standard LTE permitting QoS (Quality of Services) control and real time communications. No need of synchronization and synchronized operation of all base stations with clock of PON (Passive Optical Network) for the backhaul network allows direct handover request to the target base station, and thus quick handover can be achieved. Due to these advantages, the proposed network can be more effective candidates to the future campus net than WLAN based net.
