Performance Evaluation of the Interference Aware Channel Utilization Method for Multi-Radio Software Defined WMN

Abstract(in English) Our previous study tried to effectively utilize multiple channels at respective hops by exploiting OpenFlow in Software Defined Wireless Mesh Network (SD-WMN). This method can increase the network capacity by parallelly utilizing orthogonal channels. However, degradation of channel utilization efficiency might occur when congested channels exist, because the method does not take external radio interference into account. In this paper, we propose an interference aware channel utilization method by estimating the rest of interfered channel's capacity and controlling flows based on this estimation. Finally, we show the proposed method can enhance channel utilization efficiency when radio interference exists by an experiment.
