Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Currently, various researches on autonomous driving are being conducted. The purpose is to reduce traffic accidents due to human errors, to mitigate traffic jams, which result also in environment pollution, and to support mobility of disabled people and so on. Previous researches focused on efficient route design and safety, but comfortable mobility for passengers is one of the most important to promote the spread of autonomous vehicles. In this research, we propose a method to estimate environment factors (e.g., moving vehicles, motorbikes, and pedestrians in the field of view of each passenger) that stress passengers in a vehicle. Our proposed method using a random forest classifier estimates such stress factors from a temporal history of objects captured by an onboard camera. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated quantitatively with a onboard video dataset where all objects were manually annotated.
