Abstract(in English) | With the evolution and popularity of high-speed wireless communication tecnhologies represented by IEEE802.11ac, two issues, i.e., 1) TCP processing overhead affecting high-speed communication, 2) redundant congestion control and throughput degradation by packet losses on wireless link, should be resoleved simultaneously. We proposed TCP retransmission offload that is a countermeasure for the two issues. The TCP retransmission offload conceals packet losses on wireless link from TCP by offloading packet loss detection and retransmission functions onto the outside of TCP. Furthermore, the TCP retransmission offload suppresses the redundant congestion control and the retransmission control related to packet lossed on wireless link. In this paper, we describe the implementation of the TCP retransmission offload into the Linux device driver and performance evaluations. |
