Abstract(in English) | There is currently a commercial need for an audio reproduction system with spatial sound localization for a head-mount display. Generally, it is expected that high realism in a headphone reproduction system can be achieved using a binaural signal acquired with dummy head microphones. However, there are some known problems such as individual differences in the shapes of the heads and difficulties in reflecting the head movement. In this study, we investigated whether or not it was possible to simulate signals at both ear positions for an arbitrary listing position by using line-microphone array signals. We used cylindrical microphone array signals instead of binaural signals. In the proposed method, the signals acquired by the linear microphone array were inversely propagated. Then, the sound pressures were estimated at fine intervals by using reciprocal-space up-sampling. After that, the sound pressures of the target sound space were estimated as observation signals using a open circular microphone array. Finally, the estimated signals were converted to match the signal observed on a rigid cylinder. We confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed method using computer simulation. The results showed that the proposed method could convert line-array signals into the cylindrical signals. When listening to the output generated by this method, it was possible to perceive the location of the sound. |
