Memory Structure Visualization based on Attribute Network of Lifelog Photos

Abstract(in English) This research focuses on photos taken in daily life (lifelog photos) to support users’ cognitive and emotional functions. Especially, in this research, we propose a system that aims to visualize the memory structure of users by using lifelog photos. We combined photographs using “attributes” (emotion, place, date and time, contents). We conducted an evaluation experiment to verify whether interactive photo browsing through the photo network supports the user’s cognitive/emotional activities and whether the photo network connected with attributes mediates the user’s sense of “my memory is visualized”. Participants were divided into two groups: a group that browses photos via the network to which photos are properly connected (original group) and a group that browses through randomly connected network (random group). Hypothesis were supported by result of analyzing the subjective rating, verbal protocols and operation log.
