Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Automatic video editing methods have been investigated to deal with the task of video editing, which is both time-consuming and requires expertise. However, when existing video editing methods are applied, for example to summarize a movie, it becomes difficult to understand stories from the summarized videos. In this paper, we proposed a method for summarizing videos that can still tell a story. In particular, we examined the impact of conversation scenes in the storytelling of movies. By comparing summarized movies that maintained the integrity of conversation scenes and those that did not, we showed how preseving conversational aspects influenced the quality of summarized videos.
