Abstract(in English) | Recently, a sort of near-data processing is a hot topic, in order to reduce data transfer cost and get higher system performances. We implemented multiple processing units in a software-controlled PCIe card SSD to aggregate gene variants in a genome analysis database. Our proposed method achieves 1.4 times faster than that of conventional methods, which basically fetch data from a SSD database to main memory and process genome analysis with multiple CPU. Consequently, to use three PCIe card SSDs has a possibility to overcome even in-memory processing performance, with which all data is prepared in main memory. |
