Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | The fifth-generation (5G) mobile communication system has attracted much attention to provide various kinds of mobile services and applications for 2020 and later. 28 GHz band is one of the most potent radio bands for 5G since super wide bandwidth over a few hundred MHz is expected to be utilized in the band. However, beamforming is mandatory to provide wide service area by compensating large path loss due to higher frequency. The feasibility of 28 GHz band for mobile communication which requires beam tracking mechanism has not been clarified so far. This paper briefly reports the results of high mobility experiment featuring 5G Massive MIMO prototype that supports beamforming and beam tracking for both base station (BS) and mobile station (MS). |
