A comparative review of coupled thermoacoustic oscillators and coupled Stuart-Landau oscillators

Abstract(in English) Synchronization and amplitude death of a pair of thermoacoustic oscillators coupled by two types of connections, the dissipative connection and the time-delay-dissipative connection, have been comfirmed through experiments [Biwa $et$ $al.$, Phys. Rev. Applied, 2015]. It was also shown that behavior of coupled van der Pol oscillators is quantitatively same as that of the coupled thermoacoustic oscillators. The present report shows that the Stuart-Landau oscillators, the well-known fundamental model describing the Hopf bifurcation, also quantitatively behave in the same manner. In particular, we show that the dynamics of the coupled van der Pol oscillators can be reduced to that of the coupled Stuart-Landau oscillators by using the averaging method.
