Abstract(in English) | In millimeter-wave systems, the lack of signal diffraction around obstacles leads to signal blockage (i.e. byhuman body, wall, etc.), which is likely to cause a loss of connection. Although environments and user mobility may beregarded as partly random, in practice, they also have a deterministic element causing patterns to appear in blockageoccurrences. We show in this paper that a millimeter-wave base station can use simple and practical reinforcement learningalgorithms to adapt to such patterns and minimize the impact of blockage on link performance without using explicit feedbackof the terminal?s location. |
