An Improvement of Signature Authentication Rate by Dividing Japanese Characters with Watersheds Scheme

Abstract(in English) Online signature verification is one of the biometric verification techniques using behavior. It can use time-series data, so it has higher collation rate than offline signature verification. Because of Japanese Kanji signatures are often written in a script, it has been confirmed that the collation accuracy is improved that matching the signature data after dividing with characters. In this research, I tried dividing with characters using the Water-shed method for signature data. As a result, I was able to divide 115 signatures with characters in 120 signatures of 10 persons each 12 times. And EER could be improved,8.11% to 5.83% by handwriting information and 18.04% to 8.29% by pen pressure information.
