A Study on Throughput Improvement of Communication using HTTP/2 on Network with High Latency and High Packet Loss Rate

Abstract(in English) which is a new hypertext transfer protocol, has been proposed and documented. The protocol aims to solve HoL blocking problem of HTTP/1.x with a single connection. In this paper, we evaluate transferring performances using HTTP/1.1 and HTTP/2. We then shows that HTTP/2 can provide comparable performance with HTTP/1.1 with multiple connection in many cases, and cannot provide in a situation with high latency and high packet loss rate. After the evaluation, we reveals the behavior of TCP congestion control algorithm and demonstrate that the reason of the low performance is its congestions window size.
