Access control method considering user transmission time in wireless LAN access point

Abstract(in English) In the conventional public wireless LAN service, the channel capacity is small with respect to the number of users. Therefore, providing fair quality services is one of key issues in public wireless LAN. To deal with this issue, we have proposed a combination method of time-fairness based packet scheduling and access priority control. However, the previous method extremely drops packets in dense environment, due to its strict time-fairness constraint. In this paper, we relax the constraint on voice traffic to guarantee its QoS. In addition, we improve channel utilization by applying a collision-free media access protocol to deal with the throughput degradation of non-video traffic caused by constraint relaxation.
