In-cluster video prefix sharing in P2P video sharing system

Abstract(in English) In the conventional P2P video sharing system, peers' leave degrade the stability of the P2P systems. As a result, users have to wait a long time to play back video contents. To deal with this problem, we propose a P2P video sharing system in which Set-Top-Boxes (STBs) work as peers, and validate its stability. In order to improve users' waiting times, the proposed system makes clusters from STBs based on users preferences and STBs share video prefixes within/between clusters. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed system can improve users' waiting times even if users repeat join and leave.
