Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have proposed a progressive download method using multiple concurrent TCP flows on each of multiple paths which consist of many high performance network links like WiFi and LTE. This method assigns the suitable number of TCP flows which can achieve 90% of the maximum goodput among all the investigated numbers of TCP flows considering that TCP flows interfere with each other. However, when taking into account the feature that requests the block assigned to the slower TCP flow doubly from one of the other flows, the more number of TCP flows is expected to improve the playback rate. Thus, we propose a progressive download method using multiple TCP flows to obtain maximum goodput on each of multiple paths. In order to realize high playback rate like our previous method, the block number assignment method and the duplicated requesting method are attached to the proposal. Our proposal has been confirmed to yield enough high performance to replay video files in high playback rate when the network parameters including bandwidth, delay, and packet loss rate for two paths using WiFi and LTE are given in advance.
