A study of Simplified Label Switching for IoT Local Multihop Networks

Abstract(in English) Information and Communication Lab. (Tanaka Lab.) in NIT, Tokyo College has developed small sized prototypes of mobile multihop networks based on Field programmable gate-array (FPGA). FPGA terminals semi-fixedly installed in mesh topology transfer messages on Specified Low Power Radio (UHF) with flexible routing. Such local wireless communication systems are appropriate for gathering information from IoT devices such as widely scattered sensing devices, mobile terminals or tags. Along with development of IoT, more and more IoT devices communicate with each other, and IoT data are gathered to “Big data site” for real-time analyzing through high-speed transmission systems such as SINET. On the other hand, ultra-high definition video transmissions occupy large bandwidth in transmission system. It follows that small data irregularly occurred from sensors can not stably use required bandwidth. Thus, we try to implement a simplified label switching system in local mesh networks that provide end-to-end stable routes via high-speed transmission system based on label switching. Distributed shared memories effectively work on routing and interface point between local and backbone networks.
