Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, the amount of consumed power by networking devices is rapidly increasing with the growth of the Internet, so that network greening becomes the important issue. On the spatial traffic engineering (TE) for network greening, if there are multiple paths between some source-destination node pair, it could reduce power consumption of routers/links on low utilization paths to aggregate their traffic on the high utilization path.In original TCP which is a transport protocol between end hosts, connection is fixed in the establish-phase and it is difficult to choose it for transmission among some paths frequently in accordance with their utilization. On the other hand, Multi-Path TCP(MPTCP) can establish connections on multiple paths and simultaneously transmit traffic on them, so that MPTCP would be effective for implementing the spatial traffic engineering (TE) for network greening on end hosts. Thus in this paper, we design some necessary functions to realize TE for network greening on MPTCP, implement as network greening MPTCP,and show the effectiveness of it through some transmission experiments in the testbed network.
