Abstract(in English) | The GHS attacks present a serious threat to cryptosystems using elliptic curves over extensions of finite fields when the curves induce a covering curve over the ground fields. Thus in general the covering curve is the central subject for the GHS attack, which also provides a model and a target for security analysis and implementation of the attack. However, explicit construction of such covering curves is non trivial. Diem and Hashizume et al. shown different methods to construct covering curves over extension fields of odd characteristic, e.g. cubic extensions. On the other hand, general algorithms to find covering curves for even characteristic case seemed not available. In this paper, we show a method of construction covering curves based on theory of simple extension fields and obtain covering curves of elliptic curves over quadratic extension fields ofeven characteristic. |
