Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Millimeter wave (mm-wave) technology has been expected as a solution to wireless bandwidth shortage. When transmission control protocol (TCP) works with mm-wave communications, the sender distinguish that the cause of a retransmission timeout by a wireless-link disconnection is a network congestion and doubles the timeout value of its retransmission timer exponentially to mitigate network congestions. Thus, the time to be unable to communicate due to mm-wave disconnection becomes long. In this paper, we propose a TCP for mm-wave communications to shorten the time to be unable to communicate due to mm-wave disconnection. By means of some computer simulations, we show that the proposed TCP is effective to reduce the time to be unable to communicate due to mm-wave disconnection.
