Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Evolution and popularization of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets lead to the drastic increase of internet traffic in recent years. Network monitoring for high speed networks shared by the increasing traffic becomes crucial issue. Especially, anomaly traffic detection technology for high speed network is one of the most important issues, because the cyber-attacks such as worm, port scan, and DDoS attack have been more serious. In this study, we focus on sketch schemes of data reduction methods for anomaly traffic detection, which become essential in the high speed network. Previous studies on sketch schemes neglected to fully clarify the impact of the sketch parameters on the anomaly detection performance. This study verified the processing time and traffic anomaly detection accuracy using the Bollinger-Band with a sketch as a function of two sketch parameters: the number of hash functions and hash table size. The range of the two sketch parameters was clarified in terms of the processing time and F-measure, which evaluates both the false positive and false negative rates.
