Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have been studying a method for attaching additional functionalities onto Web-based Operation Support System (OSS) without making a change to the target OSS. In this report, we discuss our findings and challenges based on our experiment of applying its prototype implementation to a few OSSs in use. Due to the cost and effort for system development, it is not easy to fill a gap between business rules that have been changed and OSSs that should have implemented business rules. Therefore, we have been studying a method to augment user interface functionalities by injecting code into messages between a Web server and a Web browser. Using the prototype implementation, we have implemented augmentation rules that realize operators’ requirements for order handling OSSs. While resolving some issues during the process, we have successfully realized almost all requirements.
