Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper discusses channel sounding techniques for acoustic communications. Underwater acoustic communications and land mobile acoustic communications suffer from severe time and frequency selective channels, i.e., double selective channels. The authors have proposed channel sounders employing electronic acoustic devices in order to sound double selective acoustic channels. This paper proposes performance improvement schemes of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channel sounders for acoustic channels. In addition, this paper also discusses channel simulators in order to simulate acoustic channels by computer. As the proposed channel simulators can simulate acoustic channels by means of channel impulse responses and noises measured in actual acoustic environment, it can evaluate performance of acoustic communication schemes without experiment in actual environment.
