Study of Baseline Analysis Method of Service Performance Anomaly for Cloud System

Abstract(in English) Recently, cloud-based IT systems have been large-scale and complicated. And, for stable operation with minimal resources, auto-scaling technique is required. On the other hand, administrator performs service performance anomaly detection by conventional baseline analysis technique. To create the baseline, it is necessary to monitor service performance information for adequate time with this technique. When the auto-scaling system is frequently repeat the scale-out and scale-in, each instance is short-lived. For this reason, it cannot create a baseline. In this study, to solve the above problem, we proposed new baseline creation method for auto-scaling. By regarding instances which belong to same auto-scaling group as one instance, our method can provide continuous service information. And, we developed prototype system based on our approach, and evaluated feasibility of baseline analysis for auto-scaling system. As a result, we found our approach is feasible for auto-scaling system.
