Abstract(in English) | We demonstrated the detection of neurotransmitters using carbon nanotube (CNT) thin film as a working electrode in an electrochemical cell. CNT interdigitated electrodes were fabricated and their fundamental characteristics were evaluated. The fabricated CNT interdigitated electrodes have exhibited the current amplification by the redox cycle process and good anti-fouling property. They have also shown linear response to dopamine, one of neurotransmitters, in the range of dopamine concentration in cerebrospinal fluid (10 - 1000 nM). We have also proposed a novel electrochemical method to detect neurotransmitters with high sensitivity on the basis of pre-concentration of target molecules on the electrode surface. The detection of dopamine of 100 pM, as low as in saliva, was demonstrated. |
