A Study on Local Adaptation of Extended Joint Bilateral Filtering for Color Compression Artifacts Reduction

Abstract(in English) The purpose of our research is color bleeding reduction for images and videos compressed by 4:2:0 color format. We proposed the extended joint bilateral filter which realize denoising and deblurring simultaneously and showed it's high effectiveness for artificial images. However, the filter has a problem that PSNR is not always improved at natural images. In this paper, we show the result of a study of a local adaptation technique which controls filter parameters based on our uniform region similarity measure between luma and chroma components.
