An Implementation Method of 4×4 Correlation Matrix of Base Station MIMO Antenna for Bilateral OTA

Abstract(in English) This paper presents an implementation method of 4×4 correlation matrix of base station MIMO antenna when the evaluation of a handset MIMO antenna in consideration of uplink channel properties is carried out using a bilateral OTA. Firstly, the implementation model for realizing the base station correlation in uplink channel is described. Then, a methodology for achieving a 4×4 correlation matrix of a base station MIMO antenna base on the Jakes theory is introduced by setting the initial phases of scatterers in the two-dimensional channel model. The analysis of the channel capacity using a 4×4 MIMO array antenna (4 elements in base station – 4 elements in mobile terminal) is carried out. The results show that the analyzed correlation coefficient of uplink channel agrees well with the expected base station correlation characteristic, confirming the effectiveness of the proposed method.
