Abstract(in English) | To alleviate the recent shortage problem of nurses and increase the efficiency of surgery, RSN (Robotic Scrub Nurse) that can autonomously judge the current step of the surgery and pass the surgical instruments needed for the next step to surgeons is expected. The authors developed an image processing based algorithm that can early recognize only 2 steps of suture surgery before. Based on the past work, this paper proposed an expanded algorithm that can early recognize all 6 steps of suture surgery. The proposed algorithm consists of 2 modules, quasi-start point detection and action early-recognition. The segments of test video that start from each quasi-start point are compared with the training data and their probabilities are calculated. According to the calculated probabilities, actions could be early-recognized. Experimental results show the proposed method achieves a good performance. |
