Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In our previous paper, we have proposed MIETA: a multi-modal speech visualization application for deaf and hard of hearing (D/HH) people. Existing information support systems including MIETA utilize ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) to convert voice into texts. However, an evaluation experiment of MIETA proved that existing ASR is not always accurate and recognition errors lead to misunderstanding for D/HH people. Since correcting recognition errors requires effort from hearing people, just adding correction function can be obstacle for the system to be installed for practical use. Therefore, in this paper, we consider motivation strategy based on gamification for hearing people to cooperate on activities for preventing misunderstanding from misrecognition. Specifically, we apply strategy based on gamification to modification of the way to speak and correcting voice recognition error.
