Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | We develop mouse operation support application for people with severe physical disabilities(such as a muscular dystrophy, Werdnig-Hoffman disease). When people with severe physical disabilities operate a PC, we will try on them commercially available small mouse, track ball or slide pad just to find that such device do not fit them so well because their upper limb’s movable range is so small and less dexterous. To cope with such difficulties and to assist users’ operations to move the mouse cursor t we have developed an application that is tuned with an operation profile of the arms and the finger. In particular, the developed application has an additional function to compensate user’s mouse cursor’s large movement operations so that it can just fit in the cases where they cannot lift up the mouse or let the fingers off the slide pad. |
