Upper Limb Rehabilitation Support System using Kinect and Stereoscopic Vision

Abstract(in English) We made the prototype upper limb rehabilitation support system for hemiplegic patient due to apoplectic stroke. The prototype system is constructed personal computer, Kinect and stereoscopic vision display. In case of upper limb rehabilitation, a patient sits down on a chair and exercises a reaching movements according to the targets which are three dimensional computer graphics objects. The hand movements of patient are captured by Kinect and the cursor is presented in three dimensional computer graphics world. And the targets and the cursor are displayed in stereoscopic view.
