Abstract(in English) Wide Area Multilateration (WAM) is a promising aeronautical surveillance technology, and deployment have been started worldwide. While theories on accuracy have been established well already, probability of detection have been barely investigated theoretically. As a result, constellation optimization constrained by the probability of detection is difficult. Also, it is not guaranteed that the WAM is more advantageous than the conventional radars in terms of the update rate. Therefore, as a part of the effort aiming probability of detection modeling, this paper experimentally evaluates probability of localization.
