[Invited Lecture] Method of mutual coupling reduction between closely placed MIMO antennas

Abstract(in English) Recently, in order to realize large capacity wireless communication, MIMO technology is generally installed in a compact terminal considering designability and convenience. In this case, a strong electromagnetic coupling occurs due to the proximity distance between the antennas, the antenna efficiency decreases, and the communication distance and the communication capacity decrease, which have is a problem. As a countermeasure to this problem, the authors have studied various decoupling methods in the close MIMO antenna. Firstly, we analyzed the existing method for 1 frequency which connects phase shifter and antenna via parts In this presentation. And this method was modified for corresponding to multiple frequencies. Furthermore, various decoupling methods without connecting the antennas via parts using branch antenna element shape or short stubs and were developed.
