A Study on Group-Based Spatial TDMA for Maximizing Communication Throughput in Unmanned Aircraft System

Abstract(in English) UASs (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) have attracted much attention for quickly constructing the communication network in disaster areas, and, also their use in monitoring the environment in farms and infrastructure inspection is expected. In order to complete these missions, taken videos are transmitted to the ground stations in real-time. In existing video transmission systems of UASs, a video transmission occupy a radio channel. However, usable frequency bands for UASs are limitted, and therefore efficient resource allocation is needed to operate multiple UASs in neighboring areas. In this paper, we focus on centralized resource allocation. And, in order to improve spectrum efficiency, we propose group-based spatial TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access) scheme. Theevaluation is conducted to verify the proposed scheme.
