Design of IIR Filters Having Filter Coefficients as Design Parameters Using PSO

Abstract(in English) In this paper, a design method of IIR (Infinite Impulse Response) filters having filter coefficients as design parameters using PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) is discussed. Then, it is also considered to suppress an excess ripple in a transition band. In the previous works, zeros and poles were used as the design parameters. Then, zeros and poles should be formulated as the complex conjugates. Therefore, only even-order filters could be designed. Similarly, filters having real roots were also out of the design targets. In this study, PSO is applied to the IIR filter design. Several design results will show that this work can design IIR filters having real roots.
