Abstract(in English) | The fifth-generation (5G) mobile communication system will utilize higher frequency bands with wider bandwidth for super high bit rate and large system capacity. In low-SHF-band, fully-digital Massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) beamforming (BF) technology can be applied, and joint processing of digital fixed BF and channel state information (CSI)-based precoding (Digital FBCP) is proposed as one of the fully-digital methods. Conventional studies about Digital-FBCP did not apply the channel estimation (CE) to obtain all CSI required in digital FBCP. Thus, this paper applies two-stage CE to obtain the CSI, where the procedure and frame structure is described in detail. Throughput performance using the two-stage CE is shown by link level computer simulation in consideration of the reference design and pilot insertion loss, and compared with conventional digital precoding (DPR) without fixed BF. |
