抄録(和) | Metamaterials are artificial materials with effective electromagnetic parameters (e.g., refractive index, permittivity, permeability, surface impedance) that can be adjusted to almost any values, including those not encountered in nature. Metamaterials can therefore serve as an enabling technology for a great many of future applications in aerospace and navigation. The paper describes the results of the research work conducted at the Microwaves and Radar Institute of the German Aerospace Center in the last several years on the development of metamaterial devices that may help to control RCS of various scatterers, reduce interference and improve performance of antennas. The addressed topics include thin metamaterial absorbers, deflectors, meta-radomes and cylindrical cloaks. |
