An Improvement of location information management in location-based routing using mobile agent and clustering

Abstract(in English) In the mobile ad hoc network, there is a location-based routing protocol using a mobile agent (MA). This protocol has decreased the load for management of the location information by using MA. On the other hand, in the method using the MA, since all the nodes transmit location information to the MA, the control packet concentrates around the MA and this causes packet losses. Therefore, a method reducing such control packets by the clustering technique has been proposed. In this method, the cluster head (CH) sends its own location information and that of cluster member (CM) to MA in a lump. However, in this method, since the transmission of location information is periodic one, the position information in some nodes may become old, and the arrival rate in a specific case may become small. Therefore, in this research, we propose a method to reduce the packet loss rate while reducing the number of control packets transmitted to the MA.
