Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Evanescent waves are produced within refractive media when an incident wave strikes an interface at an angle greater than a critical angle. The incident angle affects the wavelength of the acoustic evanescent waves, the sound field characteristic, the penetration depth, and the phase of the reflected waves. In a previous study, we visualized acoustic evanescent waves localized at the interface of a medium. With this, we discussed the exponential attenuation of amplitude, the dependence of wavelength on the angle, and the penetration depth. In this study, we focused on the interference pattern between incident waves and reflected waves at the interface, and particularly phase change due to reflection and its dependence on incident angle. We used the schlieren method for ultrasonic waves propagating in water at a frequency of 1 MHz to visualize the wave reflection at the water / glass (BK7) interface. |
