Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | In the brain, the neuronal activity of a neuron shows phasic firings in neuronal oscillations. Neuronal oscillations are divided into various types depending on its frequency. Spindle waves are neuronal oscillation in the range of 7-14 Hz and are synchronized across brain regions. In this study, we detected spindle waves from electrocorticography on the surface of the primary motor cortex and neuron spikes from whole-cell recordings in the primary motor cortex and striatum. We examined the firing phase of neurons relative to the spindle waves. As a result, neurons in both regions frequently fire in a specific phase of the spindle waves. |
