Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) With a motivation of developing a high performance electret made of lanthanum silicate ceramics with a composition of La2Si2O7, the poling and charging mechanisms of La2Si2O7 ceramic under DC electrical field was tried to be revealed by a“thermal stimulated de-polarization current” (TSDC) measurement and a surface potential measurement based on a Kelvin-probe method. The successful preparation of La2Si2O7 ceramic electrets with the preparative condition at 200°C for 1 h under DC electrical field of 8 kV was confirmed by the detection of TSDC peaks; the stored charge was estimated to be 140 μCcm-2. The surface potential measurement of the polished samples demonstrated that the potential decreased exponentially with the degreasing the thickness, suggesting the existence of bulk charges and their attenuated distribution from the surface into the bulk.
