Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Visually impaired persons frequently bump into walking users with smartphones lately. Therefore study on electronic white canes has started to prevent these accidents. This study proposes the new method for preventing collision accidents between visually impaired persons and smartphone users by not notifying visually impaired persons of such dangerous situations but wakening smartphone users. The proposed method notifies smartphone users of alarms on approaching visually impaired persons based on the distance between smartphone users and visually impaired person. The method calculates both distance between a visually impaired person and a smartphone user and approaching speed of a smartphone user.
