Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Cutoff shifted fiber (CSF) is a low loss and low nonlinear fiber compared with other kinds of fibers. Therefore, it is expected that the CSF is adapted to a core network. To confirm the applicability of the CSF to the existing network, we examined the influence of high-power optical transmission on connecting characteristics of CSF. In this paper, we report experimentally the influence of high-power optical transmission on a fusion splice and SC connector joints between single-mode fiber, dispersion shifter fiber, and CSF.
