Smart Communication System among Drivers by Configuring Small Networks

Abstract(in English) Lately intelligent transport system (ITS) has been widely and actively developed. Especially information sharing or prevention of traffic accidents technologies have been studied by configuring a network between vehicles or a network consisting of vehicles and other objects such as passengers or ITS equipment. This paper proposes a smart communication system for drivers that has both a function of sharing drivers’ intentions and a function of collecting traffic information. This system configures a small network among drivers by using smart devices such as smart phones or tablet terminals as communication terminals. It can support drivers to perform safe and smooth driving by sharing information within a small network. This paper also shows effectiveness of the proposed system and its each function.
