Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Although many photorealistic relighting methods provide a way to change the illumination of objects in digital photograph, it is currently difficult to relight a shading style in digital illustrations, which is less constrained by physical accuracy. Our goal is to handle such non-photorealistic property for relighting digital illustrations. In this paper, we mainly focus on the following research topics: relighting animated characters and shading analysis. In relighting animated characters, we employ a layer representation to obtain temporal coherent data. We introduce normal interpolation and filtering methods to connect discontinuous normal data cased by simple layering of normal maps designed for each part. As for shading analysis, we introduce a shape and reflectance estimation method for the quantized shading property, which is commonly used in digital illustrations. We will discuss our initial relighting experiments to handle real digital illustrations.
