Broadband characteristics modeling and radiation analysis of self-complementary bow-tie antennas towards terahertz emitters

Abstract(in English) Recently, th experiments of terahertz(THz) wireless communications have been reported and their techniques are based on the optical/electronic conversion device, like an uni-traveling carrier photo diode. By contrast, the development of THz wireless communication devices towards the compact and convenient source is mostly required so as to generalize the THz wireless communication techniques. We have focused on the short-range THz wireless communication system based on the monolithic integrated transmitter(Tx) and receiver(Rx), consisting of the quantum effective device and the self-complementary broadband antenna, and the proposal for the theoretical model of the entire system based on Tx/Rx's operation physics. In this work, we investigated the modeling of the self-complementary bow-tie antenna(BTA), and reported the analytical results of the radiation/broadband characteristics as THz emitter.
