K-means Clustering-based Color Image Quantization with Preserving Minor Colors

Abstract(in English) In this report, we propose a new color quantization method with preserving minor colors of an original image. Firstly, K-means clustering is used for a color quantization. Secondly, the difference between each pixel of the original and the color-reduced images is calculated. Finally, some of pixel values in the input dataset are updated based on the calculated differences. The preserving characteristics of minor colors in the color-reduced image is improved by repeating the updating processes. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed method have been conformed by some experiments.
